A saddle fusion machine is a specialized tool used in thermoplastic pipe welding and fusion processes. It is primarily employed for joining polyethylene (PE) pipes, commonly used in gas, water, and industrial applications. The machine facilitates a secure and durable connection by fusing two ends of PE pipes together.The saddle fusion process involves placing the machine's heating element on the outside surface of the pipe, creating a melted area. Once the proper temperature is reached, the machine is removed, and a fitting or saddle is quickly inserted into the melted area. As the melted pipe cools, it fuses with the fitting, forming a strong, leak-resistant joint.Saddle fusion is particularly useful for creating branch connections, where new pipes or fittings need to be attached to an existing pipeline.
