DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) with a common
name, AUS 32 is an aqueous colorless
Urea solution. Urea is produced by
reacting ammonia and carbon dioxide to
form ammonium carbamate which is then
dehydrated to Urea. This Urea solution is
then diluted with processed demineralized
water. A specific high purity of water is
used to avoid contamination. DEF
consists of 32.5% Urea and 67.5%
deionized water and is an essential
component of selective catalytic reduction
(SCR) technology.
